Students at Walt Whitman play for the Poets. Students at Walter Johnson play for the Pitchers. Both teams are part of the same club.
About the sport
How ultimate works
Everyone plays
There are no tryouts and no cuts. Beginners are welcome on both teams, and everyone gets playing time.
Spirit of the Game
Ultimate has no referees. Players call their own fouls and resolve disputes themselves.
Tournaments
Both teams play tournaments in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, including the Maryland state championship in Baltimore.
Ultimate is played 7 on 7. Teams pass a disc down the field and score by catching it in the end zone. Games go to 15 points and take about an hour.
